  • Part of the Terms & Conditions of Plains & Predators Adventures

    These provisions form an integral part of the Terms & Conditions governing all bookings made with Plains & Predators Adventures, a tour operator registered and operating in the United Republic of Tanzania. By confirming a booking, the client acknowledges and agrees to the conditions set out below.

    1. Definitions

    For the purposes of this section:

    • “Company” refers to Plains & Predators Adventures.
    • “Client” refers to the individual or group booking travel services with the Company.
    • “Trip” refers to any safari, tour, excursion, or travel service arranged by the Company.
    • “Departure Date” refers to the first day of the booked Trip.

    2. Booking Confirmation and Payments

    2.1 A booking is deemed confirmed only upon receipt of the required deposit, as specified in the booking confirmation.
    2.2 Deposits are non-refundable, except where expressly stated otherwise in writing.
    2.3 Full payment must be received by the deadline stated in the booking confirmation. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of the booking, subject to the cancellation terms below.

    3. Client-Initiated Cancellations

    3.1 All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email or other agreed communication channel. The effective cancellation date is the date on which written notice is received by the Company.
    3.2 Cancellation fees apply as follows:

    • 60 days or more prior to the Departure Date:
      Refund of payments made, less the non-refundable deposit and any unrecoverable third-party costs.
    • 30–59 days prior to the Departure Date:
      Up to 50% of the total Trip cost may be refundable, less unrecoverable third-party costs.
    • 15–29 days prior to the Departure Date:
      Up to 25% of the total Trip cost may be refundable.
    • 14 days or less prior to the Departure Date, or in the event of a no-show:
      No refund shall be issued.

    3.3 Refund eligibility is subject to amounts recoverable from lodges, airlines, national parks, and other suppliers. The Company shall not be liable for costs deemed non-recoverable by such third parties.

    4. Amendments to Bookings

    4.1 Requests for changes to travel dates, itineraries, accommodations, or services must be made in writing and are subject to availability.
    4.2 The Company reserves the right to charge amendment fees and pass on any additional costs imposed by third-party suppliers.
    4.3 Substantial amendments requested close to the Departure Date may be treated as a cancellation and subject to the applicable cancellation charges.

    5. Cancellations or Changes by the Company

    5.1 The Company reserves the right to cancel or alter a Trip where necessary due to safety concerns, operational requirements, or events beyond its reasonable control.
    5.2 In such cases, the Company will offer the Client either:

    • A refund of amounts paid to the Company, or
    • An alternative Trip or rescheduled dates, subject to availability.

    5.3 The Company shall not be responsible for incidental or consequential costs incurred by the Client, including but not limited to flights, visas, insurance, accommodation outside the Trip, or personal expenses.

    6. Force Majeure

    6.1 Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, epidemics, government actions, civil unrest, extreme weather, or acts of God.
    6.2 In Force Majeure situations, refunds are not guaranteed. The Company will make reasonable efforts to recover costs from suppliers or offer suitable alternatives where possible.

    7. Refund Processing

    7.1 Approved refunds will be processed using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
    7.2 Refund processing times may range from 14 to 30 business days, depending on banks and payment providers.
    7.3 Any bank charges, currency conversion fees, or transaction costs are the responsibility of the Client.

    8. Travel Insurance

    Clients are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, interruption, medical treatment, emergency evacuation, and personal belongings. The Company accepts no responsibility for losses that would otherwise be covered by insurance.

    9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    These Terms & Conditions, including this Cancellation and Refund section, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Tanzanian courts.
