This 5-day budget safari is designed for travelers who want a true taste of Tanzania’s wilderness without spending too much. You’ll visit three world-famous parks Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater and experience the magic of camping in the African bush.
Your journey starts in Arusha and takes you first to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Then you’ll head to the Serengeti, where endless plains, big cats, and dramatic wildlife encounters await. The adventure finishes inside the Ngorongoro Crater, home to a dense concentration of animals and one of the best places to spot the Big Five in one day.
Travel is in a 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof for great game viewing. You’ll share the experience with a small group, enjoy freshly cooked meals prepared by your safari chef, and sleep under the stars in shared campsites. This trip is perfect for backpackers, solo travelers, or anyone seeking an affordable but unforgettable safari adventure.

No experience is needed. Your guide and cook set up most of the camp. You just need to bring a sense of adventure.
Meals are simple but hearty think fresh fruits, vegetables, rice, pasta, and grilled meats. Vegetarian and vegan options can be arranged on request.
Bring light clothing, a warm layer for cool nights, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and a sleeping bag (or rent one from us).
Pick up from Arusha in the morning and drive to Tarangire National Park. Full-day game drive with picnic lunch. Look out for elephants, giraffes, lions, and the park’s unique baobab trees. Overnight at a public campsite near Tarangire.
After breakfast, drive to Serengeti with game viewing en route. Stop at Olduvai Gorge (optional, extra cost). Afternoon game drive in Serengeti before reaching your campsite for dinner and overnight.
Spend the entire day exploring Serengeti. Early morning and afternoon game drives give you the best chance of spotting predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Overnight at the Serengeti campsite.
Morning game drive in Serengeti, then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at Simba campsite on the crater rim for dinner and overnight with spectacular views.
Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. Picnic lunch inside the crater. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha where your safari ends.
